The Bank of Baroda Virtual Debit Card is an electronic debit card designed for customers to facilitate online e-commerce transactions with convenience and security. Issued through the bob World Mobile Banking app, it offers instant activation, enhanced safety, and saves time and energy, allowing users to seamlessly pay utility bills, book flight/rail/bus tickets, and shop online.
Fees
- Currently, there are no Virtual Debit Card issuance fees.
- Once the virtual card is converted into a physical card, the fees (issuance/annual) applicable for physical Debit Cards will be levied.
- Please note that fees are subject to change from time to time at the sole discretion of the Bank/RBI.

- Physical Card Conversion: Customers can convert their virtual card into a physical card for ATM and POS transactions. Once the physical card is activated, the virtual card will no longer be usable and will be removed from the virtual card section. The validity of the physical card will be 5 years from the month of conversion.
- Transaction Limits for Converted Physical Debit Cards:
- Visa Classic: ATM Daily Limit: ₹25,000, Ecom Daily Limit: ₹50,000. Enabled for Domestic, International, and Contactless transactions.
- Visa Platinum: ATM Daily Limit: ₹50,000, Ecom Daily Limit: ₹2,00,000. Enabled for Domestic, International, and Contactless transactions.
- RuPay Platinum: ATM Daily Limit: ₹50,000, Ecom Daily Limit: ₹1,00,000. Enabled for Domestic, International, and Contactless transactions.
- Note: Converted physical cards are enabled by default for ATM & POS transactions in India only. Customers have the facility to enable/disable online/contactless/international transactions using BOB ATM, IVR, bob World App (Mobile Banking), or bob World Internet (Internet Banking).
- Green PIN: Cannot be generated for virtual cards. Post-conversion and activation to a physical card, Green PIN can be generated through BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or IVR.
- Renewal: Virtual Debit Cards are not renewed automatically. The card will be closed upon expiry of the Usage Validity or Default Expiry Period, whichever is earlier.
- Transaction Control: Customers can enable/disable card transactions for various channels (e.g., online transactions) and set their daily transaction limits for eCom transactions within the overall daily limit of the card through IVR, bob World App (Mobile Banking), and bob World Internet (Internet Banking).
- Virtual Card Issuance Limit: A particular Virtual Card variant can be issued only two times in one year (12 months from the date of the 1st virtual debit card generation of that particular variant).
- Usage Validity: Set by the Cardholder during generation, within the default expiry of 5 years. The minimum card usage validity will be 6 months from the month of virtual debit card issuance. Once the virtual card is generated, the card usage validity cannot be reduced from the initially set validity.
- Online Transaction Enablement: The virtual card is enabled for online transactions upon selection of "confirmation to allow" for domestic online transactions during issuance. Upon conversion to a physical debit card, it will be enabled only for ATM & POS Contact transactions in India; other transaction types need to be enabled separately.

- Steps to Apply for a Virtual Debit Card:
- Login to bob World Mobile App.
- Go to the Cards Section.
- Select Virtual Debit Cards.
- Click on Register New Virtual Debit card.
- Select your Account Number & Card Variant.
- Choose Card validity Year and Month.
- Tick on the Confirmation box.
- Enter your Transaction Pin to generate your Virtual Debit Card.
- Steps to Convert Virtual Card to Physical Card:
- Login to bob World App.
- Go to Card Services.
- Click on Virtual Debit Cards option.
- Click on physical card request.
- Select the Virtual Card for which a physical card is required.
- Click on Confirm.
- Enter Transaction PIN.
- Steps to Activate Converted Physical Card for Online Transactions:
- "Activate debit card" under the virtual debit card section.
- Initiate a Green PIN transaction through any one of the alternate delivery channels (BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or IVR).
- Enable card for online transactions through any one of the alternate delivery channels (BOB ATM, IVR, bob World App, or bob World Internet).
- How to use a Virtual Debit Card for online transactions:
- Visit the merchant website or app.
- Select debit card as a payment mode.
- Enter Card Details: Full card number, Cardholder Name, Expiry date (customer to enter default expiry date of virtual card and not the card usage validity), CVV.
- Click proceed.
- Enter OTP which is sent to the customer registered mobile number.
- Click Submit.
- Procedure to Block a Virtual Card:
- Via bob World App (Mobile Banking Application).
- Via bob World Internet (Internet Banking).
- Via WhatsApp Banking.
- By Visiting Base Branch (during branch operations time).
- Customers can also set limits (from 0 to maximum limit of Debit Card variant) for E-Com transactions through the Debit Card Limit setting option available in IVR, bob World App, and bob World Internet.
- Procedure to De-hot list/De-block a Virtual Debit Card:
- Customer can de-hot list/de-block a virtual debit card by visiting his/her branch.
- Usage for other ADC channels:
- Can be used to Set/reset UPI PIN.
- Post-conversion to physical, it can be used for self-registration for Internet Banking (bob World Internet) and to set/reset passwords for Internet banking (bob World Internet) using the debit card.
