- Application Process:
- Customers may apply for a debit card in person at their local branch.
- Online through the bob World App.
- Online through the bob World Internet.
- By calling the contact centre.
- Card Activation:
- Customers must create a Green PIN using a BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or by calling IVR.
- NRI customers receive a physical PIN along with new cards at their base branch and can activate the debit card by making an ATM withdrawal transaction.
- PIN Management:
- Debit Card/Green PIN can be generated through BOB World App, bob World Internet, IVR, and Bank of Baroda ATM. No physical PIN is sent for domestic registered mobile numbers.
- Ensure to change PIN at regular intervals.
- Do not write your PIN on the card or its cover, or share it with anyone.
- Soft blocking: After 3 attempts of a wrong PIN in a day (within 24 hours), the debit card will be blocked for the next 24 hours.
- Hard blocking: After 12 attempts of a wrong PIN in a month, the debit card will be blocked permanently.
- Account Linking: A maximum of 9 accounts held in the same name and capacity can be linked to a Debit Card by submitting a request to the base branch.
- Card Blocking (Hotlisting):
- Methods: Contact Centre (toll-free numbers 1800 5700), bob World App (Mobile Banking), WhatsApp Banking (8433 888 777), bob World Internet (Net Banking), or by visiting the nearest Bank of Baroda branch.
- Example Process (Contact Centre): Press 2 to continue, then 1 for Lost Card Option, then 1 to continue for Blocking the Debit Card, then 1 to Block the Debit Card, enter 14-digit Account number, enter last 4-digits of the Debit card, and press 1 to confirm. An SMS of the blocked Debit card will be sent.
- Card Non-Renewal Consent: To opt out of card renewal, block the card via Branch/IVR (1800 5700)/bob World app/bob World Internet at least one month prior to your Card Renewal Month. Not blocking the debit card will be taken as consent for card renewal.
- Reasons for ATM Transaction Failure: Possible reasons include the debit card being blocked, improper card swipe, damaged/deteriorated card, inoperative or frozen account, incorrect PIN, connectivity failure from the ATM, or the ATM channel being disabled.
- Card Usage and Security Guidelines (Do's and Don'ts):
- Use your Bank of Baroda Debit Card for personal use only and ensure it is used in your presence.
- Always enter your PIN discreetly, shielding it from onlookers.
- Register your mobile number with the bank for SMS alerts on all Debit Card transactions.
- Immediately report any unauthorized card transactions or if your card is lost or stolen.
- When destroying an expired or closed card, cut it into four pieces through the magnetic stripe.
- Beware of phishing emails and always ensure website addresses for transactions start with "https://".
- Do not give your Debit Card to anyone or disclose your Card/PIN details over email, phone calls, or to bank officials.
- Do not keep a written record of your PIN or use easily guessable PINs.
- Do not overlook or ignore transaction alerts received via SMS.
- Never leave your card in the ATM or forget to collect dispensed cash.
