- Activate your Debit Card by using it first at any ATM before using it at POS/e-commerce.
- Change your PIN at regular intervals.
- Always ensure your card is used in your presence when transacting at POS and enter your PIN discreetly.
- Register your mobile number with the bank and subscribe to SMS alerts for all Debit Card transactions to prevent fraudulent activities.
- Conduct ATM transactions in complete privacy and shield your PIN from onlookers.

- How to Use a Debit Card (Activation):

- Debit Card Functionality:

- At the time of issue/re-issue/renewal, all debit cards are enabled only for contact-based points of usage (ATMs and Point of Sale devices) within India. - Reasons for Debit Card Not Working on ATMs:

- The ATM channel may have been disabled by the user.
- Debit Card Blocking (Wrong PIN Attempts):
- Soft blocking: After 3 attempts of a wrong PIN in a day (within 24 hours), the debit card will be blocked for the next 24 hours.
- Hard Blocking: After 12 attempts of a wrong PIN in a month, the debit card will be blocked permanently.
- Hotlisting (Blocking) a Debit Card:
- Contact Centre/Toll Free Numbers 18005700: Follow IVR prompts (Press 2, then 1 for Lost Card, then 1 to Block, enter 14-digit Account number, last 4-digit of Debit card, confirm).
- Mobile Banking (bob World App): Login to Baroda bob World, go to "Cards", select "Debit Card Hot listing", click "BLOCK CARD" for the relevant card, enter transaction PIN.
- WhatsApp Banking: Say "Hi" to Bank of Baroda’s WhatsApp Banking Number 8433 888 777, select Block Debit Card option, select card number, confirm.
- Net Banking (bob World Internet): Login to bob World Internet, go to "Services" tab, select "Service Requests", then "New Requests", click on "Operative Accounts", select "Block Debit Card", choose card, reason, remarks, and transaction password.
- Nearest Bank of Baroda Branch: Submit a request for blocking the debit card by visiting any nearest branch.
- To unblock a debit card, a request must be submitted at the customer's base branch.

- Not blocking the debit card will be taken as consent for card renewal.
- The Bank sends SMS notifications regarding these guidelines 35-40 days before the card expiry date.
