Card Eligibility Criteria
- Savings Accounts: Individuals maintaining specific Savings accounts with operational instructions as "Self" or "Either or Survivor" or "Any one or Survivor".
- Current Accounts: Individuals maintaining specific Current accounts with mode of operation as Self; Sole Proprietor; Any One Partner; Any One Director; Chairman; Managing Director; Authorised Signatory.
- CC Accounts: Individuals maintaining specific CC accounts are eligible for RuPay BKCC cards.
- OD Accounts: Individuals maintaining specific OD accounts are eligible for RuPay Mudra cards.
- Eligibility is determined by the scheme code and mode of operation used to open the bank customer account.
Important Product Details
- Security Focus: The card emphasizes security, being accepted only at secure PIN-based POS terminals and requiring PIN authorization for transactions.
- Daily Transaction Limits: Offers a daily ATM withdrawal limit of Rs. 25,000 and a daily POS spend limit of Rs. 50,000.
- Initial Usage Restriction: At the time of issue, re-issue, or renewal, all debit cards are enabled for use only at contact-based points of usage (ATMs and POS devices) within India.
- Channel Enablement: For online, international, or contactless transactions, these channels must be enabled separately through BOB ATM, bob World App (Mobile Banking), bob World Internet (Internet Banking), or IVR. Cards never used for these transactions will be mandatorily disabled for them.
- Activation Requirement: The card must be activated by using it first at any ATM or by generating a Green PIN through BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or IVR before it can be used for POS or e-commerce transactions.
- PIN Security: Strict rules against sharing PIN, writing it down, or using easily guessable numbers.
- Card Blocking for Wrong PIN:
- Soft Blocking: After 3 attempts of a wrong PIN within a day (24 hours), the debit card will be blocked for the next 24 hours.
- Hard Blocking: After 12 attempts of a wrong PIN within a month, the debit card will be blocked permanently.
- Card Blocking for Non-Usage: Customers must frequently use the debit card to avoid it being blocked.
- Current Account ATM Charges: Current account holders do not receive any free transactions at other bank's ATM machines.
Other Details
- Application Process: Customers can apply for a debit card in person at their local branch, online through the bob World App, online through bob World Internet, or by calling the contact centre.
- PIN Generation & Activation:
- Customers must create a Green PIN using a BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or by calling IVR.
- NRI customers receive a physical PIN with new cards at their base branch and can activate the card with an ATM withdrawal transaction.
- Debit Card vs. ATM Card: A debit card is a multipurpose card for ATM, POS, online, and contactless transactions, while an ATM card can only be used for ATM transactions.
- Linking Multiple Accounts: A maximum of 9 accounts held in the same name and capacity can be linked to a Debit Card by submitting a request to the base branch.
- Reasons for Debit Card Not Working at ATMs:
- Card may be blocked.
- Card not swiped properly.
- Card damaged/deteriorated.
- Account inoperative or frozen.
- Using the wrong PIN.
- Connectivity failure from the ATM.
- ATM channel disabled by the user.

- Card Blocking (Hotlisting) Methods:
- Contact Centre/Toll-Free Numbers: 1800 5700, 1800 5000. Follow IVR prompts to block the card by entering account and card details.
- Mobile Banking (bob World App): Login, go to "Cards", select "Debit Card Hotlisting", click "Block Card" for the desired card, enter transaction PIN.
- WhatsApp Banking: Initiate chat with 8433 888 777, select "Block Debit Card", choose card number, confirm.
- Net Banking (bob World Internet): Login, go to "Services" -> "Service Requests" -> "New Requests" -> "Operative Accounts" -> "Block Debit Card", select card, reason, remarks, and transaction password.
- Nearest Bank of Baroda Branch: Submit a request in person.
- Non-Renewal Consent: To opt out of card renewal, block the card via Branch, IVR (1800 5700), bob World app, or bob World Internet at least one month prior to the card renewal month. Not blocking the card will be considered as consent for renewal.
- Security Do's:
- Use your card personally.
- Generate Green PIN via BOB World App, bob World Internet, IVR, or BOB ATM.
- Change PIN regularly.
- Activate card at an ATM first.
- Ensure card is used in your presence at POS and enter PIN discreetly.
- Register mobile number for SMS alerts.
- Conduct ATM transactions in privacy, shield PIN.
- Collect card, cash, and receipt after transactions.
- Beware of extra devices at ATMs and report suspicious findings.
- Ensure "Welcome Screen" is displayed at ATM after transaction.
- Regularly check account statements and report unauthorized transactions immediately.
- Inform the bank immediately if card is lost or stolen.
- Beware of strangers at ATMs.
- Destroy expired/closed cards by cutting through the magnetic stripe.
- Verify emails and links to avoid phishing.
- Ensure website addresses for transactions start with "https://".
- Security Don'ts:
- Do not give your Debit Card to anyone; surrender to bank officials after destruction if needed.
- Do not keep a written record of the PIN.
- Do not disclose Card/PIN details over email, phone calls, or to bank officials.
- Do not overlook or ignore transaction alerts.
- Never lend your card.
- Do not write your PIN on the card or its cover.
- Never share your PIN or seek help by revealing it.
- Never let anyone see you entering your PIN.
- Never use easily guessable PINs (e.g., birthday, phone number).
- Never leave your card in the ATM.
- Do not forget to collect dispensed cash.
- Avoid posting personal information online (address, phone, email, Aadhaar, birth details, family info).
