- Debit Card Activation: After receiving a debit card, the customer must create a green PIN using a BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or by calling IVR. NRI customers receive a physical PIN and can activate the card with an ATM withdrawal.
- Debit Card Usage: A debit card is a multipurpose card for ATM, POS, online, and contactless transactions. An ATM card is only for ATM transactions.
- Linking Multiple Accounts: A maximum of 9 accounts held in the same name and same capacity can be linked to a Debit Card by submitting a request to the base branch.
- Debit Card Blocking:
- Soft Blocking: After 3 attempts of wrong PIN in a day (within 24 hours), the debit card will be blocked for the next 24 hours.
- Hard Blocking: After 12 attempts of wrong PIN in a month, the debit card will be blocked permanently.
- Hotlisting (Blocking) a Debit Card: Can be done via Contact Centre (18005700), bob World App (Mobile Banking), WhatsApp Banking (8433 888 777), bob World Internet (Net Banking), or by visiting the nearest Bank of Baroda branch.
- Enabling Transaction Channels/Setting Limits: At issue/re-issue/renewal, all debit cards are enabled only for contact-based usage (ATMs and POS) within India. To enable other transaction channels and set transaction limits, log in to bob World (Mobile Banking) or bob World Internet (Internet Banking) or visit a BOB ATM or call IVR 1800 5700. The first transaction should be on a BOB ATM or Green PIN generation through these channels before attempting online transactions. International usage/contactless facility can only be enabled for International/Contactless Debit Card variants.
- Debit Card Non-Renewal Consent: To opt out of renewal, block the card via Branch/IVR (1800 5700)/bob World app/bob World Internet at least one month prior to the card renewal month. Not blocking the card will be taken as consent for renewal.
