- How to Apply: Customers may apply for a debit card in person at their local branch, online through the bob World App, online through bob World Internet, or by calling the contact centre.
- Card Activation: After receiving a debit card, the customer must create a green PIN using a BOB ATM, bob World App, bob World Internet, or by calling IVR. NRI customers receive a physical PIN and can activate the card by making an ATM withdrawal transaction.
- Debit Card vs. ATM Card: A debit card is a multipurpose card that can be used for ATM, POS, online, and contactless transactions, while an ATM card can only be used for ATM transactions.
- ATM Network: Bank of Baroda Debit cards are accepted at ATMs that are part of a network, such as RuPay, Visa, Master Card, and others.
- Card Usage: Customers must frequently use the debit card to avoid it being blocked.

- Transaction Channel Enablement: At the time of issue/re-issue/renewal, all debit cards will be enabled for use only at contact-based points of usage (ATMs and Point of Sale devices) within India. To enable other transaction channels (online, international, contactless) and set transaction limits, customers need to log in to bob World (Mobile Banking) or bob World Internet (Internet Banking), visit a BOB ATM, or call IVR 1800 5700.
- Linking Multiple Accounts: A maximum of 9 accounts held in the same name and same capacity can be linked to a Debit Card by submitting a request to the base branch.
- Reasons for ATM Issues: A debit card may not work at ATMs due to reasons such as a blocked card, improper swipe, damaged card, inoperative or frozen account, wrong PIN, connectivity failure, or a disabled ATM channel.
- Wrong ATM PIN Attempts:
- Soft blocking: After 3 attempts of a wrong PIN in a day (within 24 hours), the debit card will be blocked for the next 24 hours.
- Hard Blocking: After 12 attempts of a wrong PIN in a month, the debit card will be blocked permanently.
- Hot listing (Blocking) a Debit Card: A debit card can be hot listed (blocked) by the customer through the Contact Centre/toll free numbers (1800 5700), bob World App (Mobile Banking), WhatsApp Banking (8433 888 777), bob World Internet (Net Banking), or by visiting the nearest Bank of Baroda branch.
- Non-renewal Consent: To opt out of debit card renewal, customers must block the card via Branch/IVR (1800 5700)/bob World app/bob World Internet at least one month prior to the card renewal month. Not blocking the debit card will be taken as consent for card renewal.
- Do's for Debit Card Usage:
- Perform at least one successful debit card transaction at any POS/E-commerce platform within every 30 days to keep insurance coverage in force.
- Use your Bank of Baroda Debit Card for personal use.
- Generate Debit Card/Green PIN through BOB World App, bob world internet, IVR, and by visiting any nearest Bank of Baroda ATM (no physical PIN for domestic registered mobile numbers).
- Ensure to change PIN at regular intervals.
- Activate your debit card by using it first at any ATM; it can be used at POS/e-commerce only after ATM activation.
- Always ensure your card is used in your presence when transacting at POS and enter the PIN discreetly.
- Register your mobile number with the bank and subscribe for SMS alerts for all Debit Card transactions.
- Conduct ATM transactions in complete privacy and shield your PIN from onlookers.
- Collect your card, cash, and receipt after completing the transaction.
- Look for extra devices attached to ATMs and inform security/bank immediately if found.
- Ensure the "Welcome Screen" is displayed in the ATM after your transaction.
- Regularly check account statements and immediately report any unauthorized card transactions after blocking your debit card.

- Don'ts for Debit Card Usage:
- Don't give your Debit Card to anyone; if surrendering, request closure and hand over to Bank Officials after destruction, or block it using digital channels.
- Don't keep a written record of the PIN in any form; memorize it.
- Don't disclose your Card/PIN details over email links/phone calls/bank officials, as the Bank will never request such details.
- Don't overlook or ignore transaction alerts received via SMS.
- Never lend your card to anyone.
- Do not write your PIN on the card or its cover.
- Never share your PIN with anyone or seek help by handing over the card and revealing the PIN.
- Never let anyone see you entering your PIN.
- Never use an easily guessed PIN (e.g., birthday or telephone number).
- Never leave your card in the ATM.
- Do not forget to collect dispensed cash.
- Avoid posting personal information such as your address, phone numbers, email address, license number, Aadhaar number, birth place, location for any given day, school’s name of kids, and family details online.
